The Regina Maria Theatre has returned from tour. Success at the FNT and in Craiova
The Iosif Vulcan troupe of the Regina Maria Theater returned to Oradea after a week-long tour in which it managed to bring both the Bucharest and Craiova audiences to their feet in applause.
The first stop of the Oradea troupe on the tour was at the National Theatre Festival in Bucharest, where it participated with two shows: "Caféneaua Pirandello", which was performed on October 24, at the Studio Hall of the "IL Caragiale" National Theatre, and "Cabaretul Dada", which had two performances, on October 25 and 26, at the Liviu Ciulei Hall of the Bulandra Theatre.
Both shows were received with enthusiasm, the positive reactions of the audience materializing in applause, and of the informed spectators being written down on paper, so that Mihai Brezeanu tactfully observes in an article published on Liter.Net.ro that the show "Cafeneaua Pirandello" is "an original combination of poetry - humor - dreamlike, privileging equally gesture and stillness, music and silence, spotlights and darkness", and Dana Mischie says about "Cabaretul Dada", in an article published on Adevărul.ro, that "for this show even Dada would make an exception and allow itself to be defined".
The success achieved in Bucharest honors us and is part of the long line of testimonies of the extraordinary cultural value that the Oradea theater promotes not only locally, but also nationally.
From the National Theater Festival, we headed with great enthusiasm to Craiova, where we had the pleasure of participating with the musical "The Fiddler on the Roof" at the 15th edition of the "Elena Teodorini" International Festival.
The festival, organized by the Romanian Opera Craiova, takes place between October 1 and November 12, 2017 and this year celebrates the 160th anniversary of the birth of Elena Teodorini, the first Romanian singer to take to the stage at La Scala in Milan. The Regina Maria Theater was the only group in the event-rich program of the Craiova musical celebration that does not fall into the category of lyrical theater. However, it managed to capture the attention of even the younger spectators, who experienced every moment with emotion and applauded frantically after each scene.
Congratulations to our multi-talented actors who always manage to surpass their own limits and win the love and appreciation of the audience wherever they go, regardless of the theatrical genre they approach. Chapeau for the Oradea theater!
