THE WIZARD OF OZ – PARTICIPATION IN THE 100, 1,000, 1,000,000 STORIES FESTIVAL
The Regina Maria Theater was invited to participate in the 7th edition of International Children's Theater Festival, "100, 1,000, 1,000,000 Stories", organized between September 29 and October 6 in Bucharest, by the Ion Creangă Theater, with the show THE WIZARD OF OZ (by L. Frank Baum, under the artistic direction of Dan Mirea).
It is the most important celebration of childhood and its stories, and alongside theater troupes from Romania, artists from Bulgaria, France, Italy, Israel and Spain will participate. The Oradea theater's performance will take place on Saturday, October 6, at 11 a.m., at the Rapsodia Hall.
One of the most famous and beloved stories by children, THE WIZARD OF OZ has managed to seduce entire generations of children over time. Written at the end of the 19th century, more precisely in 1900, the fairy tale has become an immortal story over time, being considered, in fact, the first modern American fairy tale. The adventures of Dorothy – a little girl from Kansas, thrown by a tornado to unknown lands – are famous throughout the world, having known numerous dramatizations and screen adaptations. Although more than 100 years have passed since the launch of this book, children around the world are still fascinated by the wonderful world of Oz.
The cast includes actors: Alina Leonte, Anca Sigmirean, Mirela Lupu, Sebastian Lupu, Andrian Locovei, George Voinese and Emil Sauciuc. The direction belongs to Dan Mirea and the set design to Oana Cernea.
The Regina Maria Theater is the only theater in the province invited to participate in this festival.
