Three nominations at the 2021 UNITER Awards Gala
The Romanian Theatre Union has announced the nominations for the XXIX edition of the UNITER Awards Gala. The jury, made up of theatre critics Oana Cristea Grigorescu, Claudiu Groza and Cristina Rusiecki, They watched shows that premiered between January 1 and December 31, 2020, and proposed nominations for 11 categories. The Regina Maria Theater received nominations in three of the 11 categories, namely: debut, best scenography, and best actor in a leading role.
To the category Debut, Diana Păcurar, originally from Oradea, is nominated for directing the show "Three Tall Women" by Edward Albee, which has been playing on the stage of the Oradea theater with a closed house since its premiere.
To the category Best Scenography, Adrian Damian is nominated for the set design of the show "The Inspector General" by NV Gogol, directed by Petru Vutcărău. The set designer has been in the spotlight of the UNITER Awards Gala juries for years, having been a laureate several times to date.
To the category Best Actor in a Leading Role actor Răzvan Vicoveanu is nominated for the role Ivan Alexandrovich Khlestakov from "The Inspector General" by NV Gogol, directed by Petru Vutcărău. Răzvan is nominated for the second consecutive year at the UNITER Awards Gala, last year being nominated for the category Best Supporting Actor with the role of Joshua, from the show "Christians".
The Regina Maria Theatre has also received nominations at the UNITER Awards Gala in the past. In 2012, for the show "The Fiddler on the Roof", Ioana Dragoș Gajdó and Vioara Bara were nominated for best supporting actress, respectively for best scenography, and in 2016, for the performance "The Ritual Murder of Gorge Mastromas", Richard Balint received a nomination for best actor in a leading role.

This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break. The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
