Winners of the UNITER Awards Gala 2016
The UNITER Awards Gala, now in its 24th edition, took place on Monday, May 9, 2016, at the Great Hall of the "Regina Maria" Theater in Oradea. We present to you the list of the winners of the current edition.
For the 24th edition of the UNITER Awards Gala, the nominations jury was made up of theater critics: Claudiu Groza, Doina Papp, Cristina Rusiecki.
The final jury, which designated the winners, was made up of Alice Georgescu – theater critic, Mircea Morariu – theater critic, Ozana Oancea – actress, Viorica Petrovici – set designer, Alexa Visarion – director.

UNITER Senate Awards
According to the statute of the Romanian Theatre Union, the UNITER Senate awards the excellence award, the awards for the entire activity and the special awards during the UNITER Awards Gala.
Based on the proposals received from the theaters and the proposals of the members of the UNITER Senate, in the meeting on 29.02.2016, the Senate awarded the following prizes:

The UNITER President Ion Caramitru Award was awarded to Emil Boroghină, director of the Craiova Shakespeare Festival.
Two young actors were awarded by the British Council at the UNITER Gala 2016, Alexandra Rădescu and Dorin Eugen Ionescu. The traditional award offered at each edition of the UNITER Awards Gala since 1998 aims to challenge young actors to reread Shakespeare and invent him on stage in short moments of performance. The two recitals will be part of the repertoire at the Small Hall of the "IL Caragiale" National Theatre in Bucharest.
„"Nadia", by Diana-Florina Avrămuţ, is the play of the year 2015. The Play of the Year program of the Romanian Theatre Union – UNITER is held under the aegis of the Royal House of Romania. UNITER’s UNITEXT Publishing House has published a volume with the winning play.
