THE 3RD EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL IN ORADEA

Between 5-7 July 2013, the third edition of the International Folklore Festival takes place in Oradea, organized by the Regina Maria Theatre – Crişana Professional Artistic Ensemble -, the Oradea City Hall, and the Bihor County Council. At this third edition we will have participants from six countries: Cyprus, Greece, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, Hungary and Romania (represented by the following ensembles: Maria Tănase Ensemble, Ciprian Porumbescu Ensemble, Porolissum Zalău Professional Artistic Ensemble and Crişana Professional Artistic Ensemble).

FESTIVAL PROGRAM

05 JULY 2013

  • 15:30 – Short shows, animations in various locations around the city
  • 16:30-18:00 – Parade of folk groups on the route: parking lot of the Trade Unions Culture House – Gen. Magheru Street – Republicii Street – Ferdinand Square
  • 18:00–19:30 – Opening ceremony of the International Folklore Festival Oradea Bihor 2013 3rd Edition (Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey)
  • 19:30-performance by the Maria Tănase Ensemble; Soloists: Marius Măgureanu, Niculina Stoican, Petrică Matu Stoian
  • 21:00-performance by the Ciprian Porumbescu Ensemble; Soloists: Niculai Vieru, Lucica Marasac, Rodica Horga, Gheorghe Finiş

The Regina Maria Theatre announces the premiere of the show "Deșteptarea", a contemporary text by Doru Vatavlui, directed by Bobi Pricop, which will take place on January 17 and 18, 2026, from 7:00 PM, in the theatre's Great Hall. On the 50th anniversary of the first theater festival in Oradea – Short Theatre Week, the Regina Maria Theatre announces the selection of the 10th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO), financed by the Bihor County Council, which will take place between 11–20 September 2026. This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break. The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
