THE ARCADIA CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL BEGINS

The big holiday is too far away, but the wait for it will be pleasant thanks to the Arcadia Children's Theater Festival. The festival, now in its third edition, will open the theater doors every weekend in June, starting June 4th until June 26th, for all lovers of puppet theater performances.

The organizers have prepared events for spectators of all ages, with shows dedicated to babies (0-3 years old), puppet and ingenious doll shows, 3D sets, musicals for children, magic shows and outdoor concerts.

For a month, the Oradea theater invites both young and old to enter the magical universe of stories, where they will be able to meet again with the characters that have enchanted their imagination. In Oradea, Prince Charming, Greuceanu, Peter Pan, Aleodor Împărat, Muck cel Mic, The Little Prince, Robin Hood, Jules Verne, Bau – Bau and the most fierce family of kites, accompanied by their mother, will stop by. Let us tell you a secret, the heroes who will defeat the mischievous kites will be the very children in the audience.

The surprises don't end here. During the week of June 13-19, the Arcadia Festival leaves the theater and moves to the Oradea Citadel, where a series of activities and events for children will take place. From Monday to Friday, thematic workshops will be held, designed to challenge the creativity, skill, spirit of adventure and courage of each child. The workshops will be supported by the Scouts of Romania, who are waiting for you with kite building, painting on stone, wood, T-shirts, origami, quilling, treasure hunt and, for the bravest, a climbing route. Also, open-air theater performances will take place in the Citadel, and at the end of this week, the adventures of the most famous tenor penguin, the beloved Apolodor, with Ada Milea as conductor and her friends from the choir, will stop in the amphitheater with a delightful concert. Attention! this concert is dedicated only to good children. For the less attentive listeners, Ada Milea and Bobo Burlăceanu prepared a concert a little later exactly to their taste.

Also between June 13 and 17, the youngest spectators are expected at the Arcadia Hall to enter the world of theater for the first time through the four shows dedicated to babies.

The surprises don't end here, so you are all invited to an extraordinary show with giant soap bubbles, to the traveling workshop "Carousel performance" dedicated to actors and acting enthusiasts, as well as to an exhibition of posters at the Arcadia Theater made by graphic designer Trifan Laszlo for 20 years.

This year's edition of the festival invites theaters and independent troupes from Bucharest, Galaţi, Arad, Alba – Iulia, Cluj Napoca, Timişoara and Ploieşti, totaling approximately 150 guests, 12 performances in conventional spaces and 6 events in the Oradea Citadel.

At the same time, the festival also includes other artistic events: the "Lotus Flower" Festival of the Theater Circle at the Oradea Children's and Students' Palace and the "Reflection of the Soul in Literature" inter-high school competition festival.

The Arcadia Children's Festival in the Citadel of Oradea is a cultural project organized by the Oradea International Theatre Festival Cultural Foundation, financed by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund, co-financed by the Regina Maria Theatre and the Association for the Promotion of Tourism in Oradea and the Region and carried out in partnership with the Oradea City Hall and the National Organization of the Scouts of Romania - Oradea Local Center.

Tickets are on sale at the Theatre Ticket Agency from Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 19:00, and on weekends between 10:00 and 13:00. You can also purchase tickets one hour before each performance or online at www.biletmaster.ro.

On the 50th anniversary of the first theater festival in Oradea – Short Theatre Week, the Regina Maria Theatre announces the selection of the 10th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO), financed by the Bihor County Council, which will take place between 11–20 September 2026. This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break.
