Arcadia Troupe actors – prepared to protect their audience in case of fire

On February 14, 2018, the Arcadia Troupe of the Regina Maria Theater organized a completely unique fire prevention and extinguishing exercise.

In the performance hall of the Arcadia Theater, there were present both the Theater's employees, actors, technicians, office staff, workshops, doormen, firefighters, and a preparatory class of students from the "Nicolae Bălcescu" Middle School, guided by primary education teacher Ioana Junea.

Before the actual exercise, the little ones were introduced to some secrets from the world of Puppet Theater, they had the opportunity to handle puppets made available to them by the actors of the Arcadia Troupe and learned some details about the show STAN BOLOVAN, THE FEAR OF THE DINGS, which will be performed this Saturday from 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, at the Arcadia Hall.

Assisted by the emergency consultant, Colonel (retd.) Pop Viorel, the participants in the fire evacuation exercise learned what the first steps should be in the event of an unfortunate event of this kind and what the methods and routes are to evacuate the building. Thus, the children in the preparatory class were instructed to remain calm and listen to the instructions given to be evacuated on Vasile Alecsandri Street, using the main entrance. The theater staff present was evacuated via the emergency exit in case of fire, which is located in the courtyard next to the institution. To increase the veracity of the moment, auxiliary elements from the Theater's equipment were also used (the smoke machine, the lights went out and the emergency lights turned on, the light signals and the fire alarm turned on).

In the second part of the exercise, the Theatre's staff was trained in the use of the fire extinguishers provided, simulating a small fire that was extinguished with their help. The evacuation went very well, with the children being evacuated in less than two minutes after the alarm went off. They were delighted with this exercise and we would like to thank them for their participation and especially teacher Ioana Junea for her collaboration.

The desire to prevent unpleasant events of this kind, but also to be prepared if they occur, the employees of the Regina Maria Theater, respectively the staff of the Arcadia Troupe, assure the audience that all possible measures of prevention and intervention are taken in the event of emergency situations, in order to offer them the safest possible conditions to enjoy our shows.

On the 50th anniversary of the first theater festival in Oradea – Short Theatre Week, the Regina Maria Theatre announces the selection of the 10th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO), financed by the Bihor County Council, which will take place between 11–20 September 2026. This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break. The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
