It's Christmas Eve, and an elf lands in a warehouse full of stolen toys. Gary, not entirely convinced of the intruder's identity, calls Simon, who also questions his friend's sanity. The two interrogate the intruder, who begs them to release him: because he's being held up from a job he needs to finish.

The play "Christmas Eve" is a fascinating tragicomedy, in which Gary and Simon, along with Gary's prostitute girlfriend Cherry, fight to discover what Christmas really means, who gets the last cowboy, and whether the dwarf dressed in an elf costume is, in fact, Santa's elf.

The world premiere of the show based on this play took place at The Red Room in London in December 1995.
