Anca Miere Chirilă began her stage career at the Oradea State Theatre, as a member of the ensemble, as it was called in those years. She played all her life on the Oradea theatre stage. Talented, without a doubt, patiently and (apparently) docilely listening to the directors' instructions, she slowly but surely built a generous, complex, harmonious artistic destiny, in full harmony with her personal life, lived beautifully, alongside an intelligent and balanced man, who was her husband, the eminent critic Dumitru Chirilă. Her communion with him, as well as her life as an orphan (she grew up in an orphanage), were of great benefit to her, as she knew how to value modesty, work, devotion, friendship. I have rarely seen a person, an actress in particular, who would always question her artistic achievements, always ask for advice, fairly appreciate the contribution of her colleagues to her own successes, etc. Throughout her life, she was a man of exemplary devotion and honor towards the stage and towards her friends and colleagues. Faithful, Anca Miere Chirilă led her entire life in respect of the Ten Commandments.
She felt an inexplicable call to the stage and, as a young nurse medical school at the Colentina Hospital in Bucharest, she played in an amateur troupe. She then attended the Popular Art School and then, through marriage, returned to her native lands, and timidly stepped onto the threshold of a "real theater". It was in 1959, when she applied for a position in the ensemble, and was admitted. At first, she was given smaller roles, for testing purposes. She was a well-built, beautiful, slim young woman, with an exceptional voice - which would help her receive roles in revues or musicals. Therefore, small roles, such as the one in "Tache, Ianke and Cadâr" by VIPopa (A Servant), a role in the chorus in the show "Irkutsk Story" by Alexei Arbuzov and that of a lover of Serdiuk in the same show, Ana in "...Escu" by Tudor Muşatescu, the Housewife in "Măria Sa, Bărbatul" by Fehér Klára, the Woman III in "Mihai Viteazul" by Octav Dessila, a Voter in "O scrisoare pierdută" by ILCaragiale, etc., were gradually followed by increasingly larger roles, some even main ones, such as that of Chiriţa. Anca Miere Chirilă played Chiriţa twice (in 1969 and 1989), with the same vitality and success. The chronicler notes (in 1989) that her acting was „full of vitality, she was likeable, full of cuteness, ridiculous, finally vulnerable, but her agreeable acting aroused laughter”. The Mistress in „The Indictment” (by Keskin Yîldîrîm) and Meg in „The Anniversary” (by Harold Pinter), were two roles exceptionally solved under the directorial baton of Sergiu Savin. „The apparent harshness of the director, the tense relations in the rehearsals, had happy consequences: the actress, much loved by Sergiu Savin, managed, under his guidance, incredible stage creations. Moreover, in ”The Fan House„ – where she played the role of Tinca II – she was noted by the chroniclers, alongside Ion Mâinea, Eugen Harizomenov, Alla Tăutu, Eugen Ţugulea, Ion Abrudan, etc.
With Alexandru Colpacci – who appreciated her, and he also cared a lot about the actress – she created several memorable characters: one was in the play "The Bedbug" by Vladimir Mayakovsky, in "Tsar Ivan Changes His Job" by Mikhail Bulgakov or in "Tonight He Improvises" by Luigi Pirandello. She added a picturesque touch to the characters she played, never fearing a possible fall into ridicule. And this, because she knew, she had an extraordinary sense of keeping the measure. And she simply had that common sense, which young actors sometimes lack. She also played seemingly small roles (The Weeping One, The Nurse in "The Cursed Village" or "White Night", both by Mircea Bradu), but she was always noted for her demeanor, presence and emotional participation.
Much has been written about her in two relatively small roles, but to which she gave a special relief: in "Apus de soare" by B.Şt.Delavrancea - a show in which director Nicoleta Toia added scores, a few moving folk songs, of a tenderness that warmed the souls of the audience, and in "Occisio Gregorii...", where she played with a simplicity full of authentic vibration, the role of a mother with children clinging to her lap. Professor Ion Olteanu intuited her ability to create, with simple means, strong, vivid characters. Victor Parhon wrote laudatory about "Apus de soare", emphasizing "the emotional force of the songs, expressively enhanced by the interpretation of the actress Anca Miere Chirilă". Another columnist writes about Horholina in "Occisio Gregorii...": "the show had an exceptional solemnity, which the musical commentary supported by Anca Miere Chirilă amplified".
She acted in comedies, with an immense appetite for acting. In "Gaiţele" (by Al. Kiriţescu) she was an extremely lively, convincing Lenă. Although she played alongside Maud Mary and Lili Mihăilescu - writes a chronicler - "she succeeded brilliantly, without any gap in value, between her experienced colleagues". She was an exemplary Chiriachiţă in "Titanic vals" (by Tudor Muşatescu), directed by prof. Ion Cojar. She was, in "Preşul" (by Ion Băieşu), a character of irresistible, authentic humor (the same one that Stela Popescu played in Bucharest). She played, one after the other, the roles of Ziţa and Veta in "O noapte furtunoaşa" by IL Caragiale, sang and recited very beautifully and intelligently couplets in all the revue shows, gave poetry recitals on her own (being a passionate reciter and lover of popular poetry ("Alină-te, dor, alină") or cult poetry (the N. Labiş show, the Goga show - "Sick of Many Longings").
Anca Miere Chirilă served the stage and the audience with respect, devotion and a love that places her in a special place in the history of the Oradea Theater.
