The Tale of the Golden Forest (1958)

Absolute premiere

Artistic director: Radu Penciulescu
Decor: Gheorghe Oriold and Eliza Popescu

Premiere date: February 2, 1958

A show aimed primarily at young children, but also at those who, as adults, sought to relive the emotions of childhood, "The Tale of the Golden Forest" depicted, through picturesque characters, real or allegorical, the eternal struggle between Good and Evil. The message of the play is concisely formulated by Zamfir:

"Oh! If only I could find the seed of "Good" to plant
Cultivate in the soul and from it, let me see how the fruits grow
And in turn they bear fruit... Humanity under the sun
They would love honestly, from the heart..."
