Simonca, Gheorghe

Actor
Date and place of birth: 20.04.1936, Dăbâca
Studies: Institute of Theatrical and Cinematographic Art "ILCaragiale" Bucharest, 1962
Originally from Oradea, he collaborated as a pianist and accordionist with the Puppet Theatre, and after graduating he came to his hometown, where he stayed for only a season or so, during which he played a few important roles with grace, then transferred to the Bucharest Comedy Theatre - where maestro Beligan "wanted" him -, a collective in which he played until the end of his career and life.
He had an interesting career, appearing in TV shows and several films, in one of which he gave life to a legendary figure in the country's history: the controversial King Carol II, to whom, incidentally, he bore a striking resemblance.
