The show-event "Dețeptarea", in Cluj, in partnership with the National Theatre and TIFF: a unique show format, live-cinema, followed by a dialogue with the artistic team alongside Silviu Faiăr, Really Rux, Sabina Teodora and Alex Zlăvog

The show talks bluntly about what it means to be a teenager in the era of deepfake.

The Regina Maria Theatre in Oradea presents the show "The Awakening", by Doru Vatavlui, directed by Bobi Pricop, in a special performance that will take place on June 18, 2026, at 6:00 PM, in the main hall of the "Lucian Blaga" National Theatre in Cluj-Napoca, in partnership with the host theatre and TIFF. The scheduling of the show during the 25th edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) creates a natural context for the encounter between theater and cinema, "The Awakening" being built as a live-cinema stage experience, in which theatrical language permanently intersects with visual and narrative mechanisms specific to digital culture and the contemporary audiovisual environment. The performance benefits from the support of the festival in terms of promoting and integrating the event into the circuit of the audience present at the festival.

Since its premiere in January 2026 at the Regina Maria Theater, "The Awakening" has become an extremely popular show-event, not only among teenagers. Parents and teachers who saw it spoke of it as a necessary meeting context, a place where they can peek into a reality that they otherwise have a hard time understanding. Indirectly inspired by the universe of the play "Spring Awakening" by Frank Wedekind, the show proposes a contemporary story about adolescence, digital identity and the invisible violence of the internet. At the center of the action is Amalia, a 16-year-old student whose life is destabilized after a compromising image of her goes viral online.

The show uses a stage language close to the digital universe of the current generation: live broadcasts, mobile phones, video content, real-time reactions and structures inspired by the platforms that teenagers use every day. The actors and teenagers are not on stage in a conventional way, but among the spectators, and the feeds and cameras of the phones become dramaturgical tools. Built as a polyphony of perspectives and media flows, "The Awakening" explores the fragility of identity in a world where the border between real and fabricated is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish.

One of the central elements of the concept is the integration of online content creators directly into the universe of the show. The Cluj performance will feature four of the production's special guest video stars: Alex Zlăvog, Really Rux, Silviu Faiăr and Sabina Teodora. They will participate in the audience discussions integrated into the structure of the show. Their presence extends the stage experience beyond theatrical convention and directly connects the show to internet culture and the reality of the current generation.

The cast brings together teenage actors alongside their real parents, actors from the "Iosif Vulcan" Troupe of the Regina Maria Theatre: Anastasia Vicoveanu, Robert Balint / Filip Ionescu, Rebeca Rusu, Dania Uifaluși, Benjamin Kendi, Tudor Neagu, Adela Lazar, Richard Balint / Sorin Ionescu, Alina Leonte, Răzvan Vicoveanu, Alexandru Rusu.
