The Regina Maria Theatre is one of the four Romanian theatres that was invited to participate, between April 21-23, 2016, in the 10th anniversary edition of the Craiova Shakespeare Festival, with the show "In the Heart of the Night - Episode Lear", a script by Gavriil Pinte, with inserts by George Banu and Monique Borie, which enjoys the directorial signature of Gavriil Pinte and the scenographic signature of Roxana Ionescu.

The performance of the Oradea theater was received with great enthusiasm by the Craiova audience, who not only occupied all the seats available on the Mobile Stage, but also filled the entire space around the stage, so that Mihai Viteazul Square resounded with applause at the end of the performance.

The honor of playing at such a prestigious festival was completed by the invited theatrical personalities who were among the spectators, among whom we remember George Banu, author together with Gavriil Pinte of the scripts of the two shows of the project "IN THE HEART OF THE NIGHT" that were staged in Oradea, Emil Boroghină - the festival director, theater critics Cristina Modreanu, Alina Epingeac, Pompiliu Onofrei, Doina Lupu, Maria Sârbu, Ioan Cocora, the plastic artist Mihai Ţopescu, whose works entitled "COCON" from the exhibition "Sacrifice" appear in the show.

Also, among the spectators were guests from abroad, who had access to the English text to overcome language barriers and enjoy the show in all its fullness, a feat accomplished, as they remained to applaud for minutes on end and congratulate the team.

The period spent in Craiova was a prolific one, so much so that on the morning of the show, two of the actors from the cast of the show "In the Heart of the Night - Episode Lear", Mirela Lupu (The Jester) and Şerban Borda (King Lear) were invited to the Oltenia 3TV television station on the show "Matinalul oltenesc" to talk about the Oradea show and its participation in the Shakespeare Festival. The next day, Saturday, April 23, at 11:00, at the Dolj County Council, during the Shakespeareology session organized in collaboration with the International Association of Theater Critics, guests George Banu, Gavriil Pinte and Sorin Alexandrescu spoke about the project "In the Heart of the Night - Episode Lear".
