New premiere at the Regina Maria Theater: Music and cabaret show, AT "IUNION", BIRJAR!
The Regina Maria Theatre is pleased to announce a new premiere of the 2012/2013 Season, on Sunday, May 12th at 7pm in the Great Hall of the Theatre. The artistic direction is by Daniel Vulcu, and the show is based on sketches by IL Caragiale. The set design is by Vioara Bara, and the choreography is by Baczó Tünde.
To be in tune with the “year of Caragiale” – last year being the 160th anniversary of Caragiale’s birth and 100th anniversary of his death – the show LA “IUNION”, BIRJAR! proposed by Daniel Vulcu tries to bring to the forefront the atmosphere of the 1900s, through the texts of the immortal writer. The atmosphere at the “Iunion” terrace with the music and dances of those times will be found in a cheerful cabaret show, pigmented with live music and magic acts, which can only be to everyone’s taste.
With a bittersweet smile, we notice every time, as if in a breach in time or as if in a merciless mirror, the lucidity of the writer through his timelessness. The same world, the same turmoil, manifested only under a different appearance, make Caragiale an immortal writer, and the collage of 11 sketches comes to support this statement ("A stormy evening", "Article 214", "CFR", "Mofturi", "Infamie", "La posta", "Cum borcere șaranii", "Gazometrul", "Five o'clock", "Amici", "Proces verbal"). The cast includes actors from the Iosif Vulcan Troupe: Andreea Gabor, Georgia Căprărin, Dania Ținca, Denisa Vlad, Corina Cernea, Ion Abrudan, Alina Leonte, Mirela Lupu, Alexandru Rusu, Petre Ghimbășan, Pavel Sîrghi, Sebastian Lupu, Răzvan Vicoveanu, Daniel Vulcu, Alin Stanciu, Andrei Gliga, Eugen Neag and Radu Tudor, as well as dancers from the CRIŞANA Professional Artistic Ensemble (Roxana Sălăgean, Ioana Laza, Andrada Ciocan, Lavinia Mocanu, Daniel Titi Sandro, Mircea Dărăban, Călin Covaciu, Florian Adameț) and the orchestra of the same ensemble, led by conductor Eduard Albina, composed of Florin Bonțu, Petre Frasin, Florin Sfârlea, Cătălin Ardelean, Nicu Moldovan and Nicolae Gomboș.
The show also enjoys the extraordinary participation of soloists Ana Maria Georgescu, Dorin Griguţă (Baia Mare Revue Theatre) and Marcel Mârza (Baia Mare Revue Theatre) and magicians Eduard and Bianca.
Tickets are already on sale, both at the Ticket Agency and online at www.biletmaster.ro. The price of a ticket is 35 lei for the central boxes, 30 lei for the side boxes, 25 lei for the Hall and 20 lei for the Balcony.
The next performance will take place on Wednesday, May 15, at 7 p.m., at the Great Hall.

On the 50th anniversary of the first theater festival in Oradea – Short Theatre Week, the Regina Maria Theatre announces the selection of the 10th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO), financed by the Bihor County Council, which will take place between 11–20 September 2026. This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break. The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
