PREMIERE IN THE COUNTRY: KEY

The Regina Maria Theater in Oradea presents on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., the national premiere of the play The key  by András Forgách. Cast: Daniel Vulcu and Pavel Sîrghi alongside Petre Ghimbășan, Georgia Căprărin, George Dometi, Corina Cernea, Alin Stanciu, Marlena Prigoreanu and Ion Abrudan. Dramaturgy: Attila Budaházi. Set and costumes: Adriana Grand. Stage direction: Victor Ioan Frunză.

András Forgách's play is the tragicomic story of the end of childhood. Two brothers – very similar to Shakespearean clowns – feel that things must have an end, a release. A slightly comical and, therefore, imposing humanity emanates from the two brothers, two people, two of our contemporaries, torn and embittered. Although Forgách's discourse is built on the human derisory, the result is, in fact, a captivating testimony of trust in the dignity of the human condition.

Andras Forgach is a dominant figure in contemporary Hungarian theatre. His plays have been awarded the Critics' Award (1992), the Hungarian National Theatre Award (1993), the Hungarian National Theatre Award (1994), the Hungarian National Theatre Award (1995), the Hungarian National Theatre Award (1996), the Hungarian National Theatre Award (1997), the Hungarian National Theatre Award (1998), the Hungarian National Theatre Award (19 Mari Jaszai (2002), Award Attila Jozsef (2006), Award Milan Fust (2007), TIbor Déry (2007) and the Award Béla Balázs (2009).
