PRESS RELEASE | FTS Awards 2023
The 8th edition of the Oradea International Theater Festival has come to an end after 11 intense days of theater! We enjoyed a rich and very good selection of performances, concerts, related cultural events and beautiful artistic encounters.
This year the festival included three major sections:
- GUEST SHOWS – OFF COMPETITION, a section dedicated specifically to Oradea residents, which aims to bring to the audience extensive productions that are currently at the top in theater.
- The OUTDOOR section – which aims to transform the street into a big stage and give passersby a little bit of the magic of theater. All outdoor events were free this year.
- And the competition section – the SHORT THEATRE FESTIVAL, reached its 26th edition this year. 17 performances from theaters in the country and abroad competed for the five awards awarded by the jury: the award for best actress, the award for best actor, the award for best direction, the award for best show and, this year, the award for best scenography will not be awarded, but instead, a special jury award will be given.
The selection was made by the Management of the Regina Maria Theatre, and the jury was made up of three personalities from the theatrical world, namely: theatre critics Doru Mares, Elizabeth Pop and Mircea Morariu.
The jury decided to award the following prizes:
- Best Actress Award:

- Raluca Aprodu for the role in the show "Girls and Boys", by Dennis Kelly, directed by: Cristi Juncu – Act Theatre, Bucharest
- Georgia Caprărin for the role of Liselotte in the play "Until Death Do Us Part (Liselotte and the Month of May)" by Poszgai Zsolt, directed by Daniel Vulcu - Regina Maria Theatre, Oradea
- Emőke Kató for the role of Ester Nagy in the show "ALL THE THINGS ALOIS TOOK FROM ME" by Cosmin Stănilă, directed by Andrei Măjeri – CREATION AND EXPERIMENT REACTOR, Cluj-Napoca
The award for best actress goes to actress Emőke Kató for the role of Ester Nagy in the show "ALL THE THINGS ALOIS TOOK FROM ME".

- Pavel Sirghi for the role of Ică from the play "The Last Ones" by Mimi Brănescu, directed by Denisa Irina Vlad - Regina Maria Theatre
- Ionut Caras for the role in the play "The Black Mirror", after Luigi Pirandello, directed by Roberto Bacci - "Lucian Blaga" National Theatre, Cluj-Napoca
- Cornel Raileanu for the role of Zaharia Trahanache in the show "A lost letter in concert" by ILCaragiale, concert show by Ada Milea - "Lucian Blaga" National Theatre, Cluj-Napoca
The award for best actor goes to actor Pavel Sîrghi for the role ic from the show "The Last" by Mimi Brănescu, directed by Denisa Irina Vlad - Regina Maria Theatre
- Best Director Award:

- Andrei and Andreea Grosu for the show "Mass" by Fran Kranz, a co-production of the "Radu Stanca" National Theatre in Sibiu and a theatre
- Cristi Juncu for the show "Girls and Boys", by Dennis Kelly – Act Theatre, Bucharest
- Andrei Majeri for directing the shows "All the things Alois took from me" by Cosmin Stănilă - CREATION AND EXPERIMENT REACTOR, Cluj-Napoca and "Heroines" after Publius Ovidius Naso, "Mihai Eminescu" Theater, Botoșani.
The award for best direction goes to director Andrei Măjeri for the performances „"All the Things Alois Took from Me" and "Heroine".
- Best Show Award:

- Massie by Fran Kranz, directed by: Andrei and Andreea Grosu, a co-production of the "Radu Stanca" National Theatre Sibiu and unteatru
- „"All the things Alois took from me"” by Cosmin Stănilă, directed by Andrei Măjeri – CREATION AND EXPERIMENT REACTOR, Cluj-Napoca
- ZINC BOYS dramatization, stage adaptation and direction: Yuri Kordonsky, Bulandra Theater, Bucharest.
The award for best show is given to the show "The Zinc Boys"„ dramatization, stage adaptation and direction: YURI KORDONSKY, Bulandra Theatre Bucharest.
The special jury prize is awarded to the performance "A Lost Letter in Concert"„ by ILCaragiale, concert show by Ada Milea – "Lucian Blaga" National Theater, Cluj-Napoca.
