PRESS RELEASE | A magical week of stories from Arcadia – 2nd edition
We are creating another beautiful tradition together and launching the second edition of the "Tales from Arcadia" Week between May 26-31, 2023, an event organized by the Arcadia Troupe of the Regina Maria Theater.
The "Tales from Arcadia" week is an invitation to a fantastic journey, where childhood stories come to life on stage and can be revisited by children and adults alike, from this new, animated and joyful perspective of theater. The program includes some of the most beloved theater performances from the company's repertoire, as well as interactive, educational and entertaining events, designed to delight young spectators.
For six days, the actors of the Arcadia Troupe will perform multiple performances of the most famous titles in the troupe's repertoire, which include stories from universal literature: "Doctor Aumădoare", "Beauty and the Beast", "Cinderella", "The Three Little Pigs", "The Goat with Three Kids", but also shows for the youngest spectators: "Little Man" and "Norr in the World of Colors".
For some shows during the week, children will come to the organized theater, with their school or kindergarten, but we also thought about parents who want to share the magic of stories with their children, so we are waiting for the general public on May 27th for "Beauty and the Beast", on May 28th for "Cinderella", on May 30th for "Little Man", and on May 31st for "Norr in the World of Colors".
As we have accustomed you, this edition the theater lobby will be animated, now by two fabulous exhibitions: "A world of stories - dolls from Arcadia" which includes spectacular dolls that have come to life over time in performances of the theater in Oradea and "RecyclArt - from Trash to Art" with colorful and story-filled installation paintings made by the painter Adela Lazăr, who teaches us that any object, even if it seems useless, with a little imagination, can become a work of art. The opening of the two exhibitions is organized by the students of the 4th grade B, from the "Iuliu Maniu" Greek Catholic High School, within the project Walking through history and tradition, in which Arcadia Troupe is a partner. But the exhibitions will be on view throughout the "Tales from Arcadia" Week event.
The delight of the event will be again this year the three magical evenings of… Stories in Pajamas, which will take place between May 26-28. The actresses of the Iosif Vulcan Troupe Ioana Dragoș Gajdó and Adela Lazăr (Toppolina) and the actors of the Arcadia Troupe Igor Lungu, Iulia Dinescu and Florian Silaghi will play, sing, but above all, they will read interactively and entertainingly the most beautiful stories in the world. Each evening will have its own charm and distinctive note. On the first evening, Florian Silaghi and Adela Lazăr will lure the children into the world of stories, they will be followed the next evening by Igor Lungu and Ioana Dragoș Gajdó, and then Igor will take the newest actress of the Arcadia Troupe: Iulia Dinescu with him on the fantastic journey. Our warm recommendation is that each little participant comes dressed in pajamas and with his favorite plush toy or blanket.
On this journey through the realm of happiness and stories, we will once again be accompanied by the mascot of the "Tales of Arcadia" Week, the eaglet Arc, a black eagle chick, who loves stories and falls in love with theater, even though there is not much room for fantasy in his world.
Tickets for the events on sale can be purchased from the theater agency, open from Tuesday to Saturday between 10:00-18:00, online at Eventim.ro or one hour before the performances at the Arcadia Theater, within the limit of available seats.
We look forward to seeing you at the theater!
