PRESS RELEASE | "Tales from Arcadia" Week

A week of stories from Arcadia

The Regina Maria Theater invites you from May 15-22, 2022 to the "Tales from Arcadia" Week, a complex event, organized by the Arcadia Troupe, which will include some of the most beloved theater performances from the troupe's repertoire, as well as related events designed to delight young spectators.

"Tales from Arcadia" Week is an invitation to a fantastic journey, where childhood stories come to life on stage and can be revisited by children and adults alike, from this new, animated and joyful perspective of theater.

For eight days, the actors of the Arcadia Troupe will perform multiple performances of the most famous titles from the troupe's repertoire, which include fairy tales from universal literature: "Little Red Riding Hood", "Beauty and the Beast", "Pinocchio", but also from Romanian literature: "The Goat with Three Goats", "The Deeds of Păcală" and "The Bag with Two Money". If on the weekend the shows are performed for the general public, during the week the children will come to the organized theater, with the school or kindergarten. And because we want to be closer to the little ones, after two years of pandemic and distancing, after the performances the actors will accompany the children to the foyer, where an interactive exhibition with puppets and models made by Răzvan Chendrean, a talented props, sculptor and set designer of the Regina Maria Theater, will be installed.

In addition, for children from schools and kindergartens who come to our doors, we are launching a challenge. The little ones are invited to draw their favorite character or the story they watched at the theater. How the world of fairy tales is seen through their eyes, we will find out in an exhibition dedicated to Children's Day, which we will open in the theater foyer at the end of May.

On Wednesday, May 18, after the show "The Exploits of Păcală", actress Mirela Niță Lupu will reveal to the children present at the show some of the secrets of the birth of a puppet theater show, which she captured and thoroughly explained in the book "The Diary of a Story or How I Became a Puppet Theater Show for Children".

The last weekend of the "Arcadia Stories" Week comes with a special invitation: three magical evenings of ... Stories in pajamas, which will be skillfully orchestrated by beloved actors from the Iosif Vulcan Troupe, such as: Ioana Dragoș Gajdó, Alina Leonte, Toppolina (Adela Lazăr), as well as from the Arcadia Troupe: Igor Lungu, Andrei Fazecaș and Florian Silaghi. Each story in pajamas evening will have its own charm and distinctive note. Thus, on the first evening dedicated to stories, children are invited to the Arcadia Hall, to watch filmstrips with Ioana Dragoș Gajdó and Igor Lungu. The stories will be followed by creative games and a small foray into the secrets of the theater. On Saturday and Sunday, Poop Stories moves to the Small Hall, where actors Alina Leonte and Andrei Fazecaș (Saturday) and Toppolina (Adela Lazăr) and Florian Silaghi (Sunday), promise the little ones an unforgettable hour, with different stories and surprises. Our warm recommendation is that each little participant comes dressed in pajamas and with their favorite stuffed toy or blanket.

On this journey through the realm of happiness and stories, we will be accompanied by the eagle Arc, the mascot of the event. Arc is a baby eagle who loves stories and falls in love with theater, even though his parents don't really agree with this. But you will learn the eagle's story during the events.

Tickets for the events on sale can be purchased from the theater agency, open from Tuesday to Friday between 10:00 and 14:00, online at Eventim.ro or one hour before the show at the Arcadia Hall, within the limit of available seats.

We look forward to seeing you at the theater!
