PUPPET WORKSHOP WITH SPANISH ACTOR LUIS MONTOTO
For a week, from November 11-18, 2013, Arcadia Troupe participated in a workshop on string puppetry, the most difficult animation art technique. The workshop was coordinated by Spanish director and actor Luis Montoto and is one of the stages of the European project entitled Itineraries.
During the program, the entire Arcadia Troupe team had the opportunity to learn how to build these special puppets and how to handle them. The exercise was demanding and difficult for the participants, given the weight of the puppets.
The European project Itineraries is funded by the European Commission and runs for a period of 2 years, between July 2013 and June 2015. The beneficiaries of this grant are the Regina Maria Theatre and partners from France, the Czech Republic and Belgium. The value of the project amounts to 405,000 Euros. The purpose of this project is to create a traveling show that will be presented in all partner countries, as well as a unique puppet exhibition.
