The Regina Maria Theater joins the campaign urging solidarity and compassion for the Ukrainian people

The Regina Maria Theater joins the "Pray for Peace!" campaign - A Radio Romania Cultural campaign initiated as a sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people, by broadcasting an audio message that calls for solidarity, empathy and compassion with the tragedy of the war in Ukraine.

Today, from 6:00 PM, at the Great Hall, before the start of the performance "The Art of Adultery" and on Saturday, March 5, at 6:00 PM, at the Arcadia Hall, before the start of the performance "Three Tall Women", a recording of Ana Blandiana reading a short excerpt with a strong emotional impact from the preface to the book "The Last Witnesses" by the Ukrainian-born writer, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, Svetlana Alexievich, will be broadcast.

On Saturday, March 5, all cultural institutions that join the campaign will broadcast, simultaneously with Radio Romania Cultural, the audio message. According to the press release sent by Radio Romania Cultural, the campaign will then continue on air through readings by Romanian and foreign writers, members of Pen Club Romania and Pen Club International, who called, in a press release, for an end to the violence in Ukraine: PEN International strongly condemns the violence unleashed by Russian forces on Ukraine and urgently calls for an end to the military aggression against a sovereign, independent state. The bloodshed must stop now. We stand with Ukraine, as well as our friends in PEN Ukraine, and we call on President Putin to immediately stop this war. Peace must prevail.

The Radio România Cultural campaign PRAY FOR PEACE is being carried out with the support of Litera Publishing House.

On the 50th anniversary of the first theater festival in Oradea – Short Theatre Week, the Regina Maria Theatre announces the selection of the 10th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO), financed by the Bihor County Council, which will take place between 11–20 September 2026. This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break. The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
