The 7th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival has come to an end, after eight intensive days of theatre. One of the most anticipated moments of the festival is the award ceremony of the Short Theatre Festival – competition section, which is this year in its 25th edition.

The selection of the SHORT THEATRE FESTIVAL was made by Victoria Balint – head of cultural projects and public relations at the Regina Maria Theatre, and the following performances were included in the competition:

1. suicide based on texts by Luigi Pirandello, translation, screenplay and direction by Norbert Boda – Baia Mare Municipal Theatre
2. THE WHOLE FAMILY by István Örkény, directed by Sânziana Stoican – „Ioan Slavici” Classical Theatre, Arad
3. BEFORE BREAKFAST by Eugene O`Neil, stage version and direction: Andrei and Andreea Grosu – "Maria Filotti" Theater, Brăila
4. BRUTUS or THE MURDER OF JULIUS CAESAR by Tüncer Cucenoğlu, directed by Irakli Gogia – Tbilisi Sandro Akhmeteli State Drama Theatre, Georgia
5. THE MONSTER OF THE SAND by Csaba Szekely, directed by Andi Gherghe – "Fani Tardini" Drama Theatre, Galați
6. AN OPEN RELATIONSHIP by Dario Fo and Franca Rame, directed by Ana-Ioana Macaria – Bucharest Art Theatre
7. MEDEA'S BOYS – dramaturgy Ionuț Sociu + fragments from "Medea" by Euripides, directed by Andrei Măjeri – Apollo111 Theatre, Bucharest
8. AVALANCHE by Tüncer Cucenoğlu, directed by Petru Vutcărău – Regina Maria Theatre, Oradea

This year, the jury of the Short Theatre Festival was made up of three great personalities from the world of theatre, ION PARCHON, ELIZABETH POP and ION SAPDARU, who carefully analyzed the performances and decided to award the following prizes:

Best Actress Award, which is awarded to the lady:
ANDREEA BIBIRI for the role of the Woman in the show "An Open Relationship"„
Award offered by the Rotary Club Oradea.

Best Actor Award, which is granted to Mr.:
EDUARD TRIFA for the roles of Medea and Triphos in the show "Medea's boys"„
Award offered by the Rotary Club Oradea Art Nouveau.

Award for Best Set Design, which is awarded to the lady:
MARIKA KVACHTADZE – for the scenography of the show "Brutus or the Assassination of Julius Caesar", from the "Sandro Akhmeteli" State Drama Theater in Tbilisi, Georgia
Prize offered by D&C Oradea.

Best Director Award is awarded ex aequo to the following gentlemen:
IRAKLI GOGIA for directing the show "Brutus or the Assassination of Julius Caesar" and ANDREI MAJERI for directing the show "Medea's Boys".
Award offered by HOLCIM Oradea.

The award for best show goes to the show:
„"Brutus or the Assassination of Julius Caesar"”, from the "Sandro Akhmeteli" State Drama Theater in Tbilisi, Georgia
Prize offered by RAIFFEISEN BANK.

This edition, the following was added to the list of awards:

SPECIAL JURY AWARD, awarded to the Regina Maria Theatre for the show "AVALANȘA" by Tuncer Cucenoglu, directed by Petru Vutcărău – for the value of the message and the quality of the stage embodiment.
Award offered by the Lions Club.
