THE FIRST DAYS OF THE ORADEA INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL

The Oradea International Theatre Festival, now in its fourth edition, was officially opened on Sunday, September 25, with the premiere of the show Domnul Jurdan, a dramatic rewrite of the comedy ”"The bourgeois gentleman"” by Jean Baptiste Poquelin Molière, under the stage direction of Victor Ioan Frunză. The performance was enthusiastically received by the Oradea audience, who rewarded the artistic effort of the team with minutes of applause.

The festival continued on Monday, September 26, when it was the turn of the country's theaters to captivate the audience. The start was given by the sparkling comedy „"PRAY or the GREAT LOTTERY"”, proposed by the "Alexandru Davila" Theatre in Piteşti within the competition section of the Short Theatre Festival. Also in the competition section, the actors of the Ion Slavici Classical Theatre in Arad took to the stage, with the show "„"The Tip of the Iceberg"”, but also the team of the Satu Mare Nord Theater, which presented the tragicomedy „"Autobahn". And because laughter is welcome at any time of the day, also on Monday, September 26, beloved actors Sebastian Lupu and Mirela Lupu presented the comedy "The „"I was walking around.".

The festival continues on Tuesday, September 27 with four unmissable performances. Contemporary texts, young directors, objective and profound analyses of today's society, with all its strengths and temptations, will undoubtedly conquer audiences of all ages.

From the time 17:00, at Arcadia Hall, Excelsior Theatre, Bucharest proposes „"With A Little Help From My Friends"”, after Maria Manolescu, directed by Alexandru Mâzgăreanu. The show is a cry of anger from a generation that needs to be heard and understood. Several teenagers come to the sea to have fun, to fall in love, to dream and, perhaps, to die. The show talks about the things hidden deep within the characters that, through the game, come to the surface, making the situation get out of control.

From 7:00 p.m., at the Mar Halle (show with the audience on stage), the "Fani Tardini" Dramatic Theater, Galați proposes „"The Belgrade Trilogy"”", after Biljana Srbljanovic, directed by Erwin Şimşensohn. The show presents three stories of young Belgraders who choose to leave their native country, where they see no solution for their future. In Prague, in Sydney, in Los Angeles, the exiles of the former "Yugoslav nation" realize that no Christmas is like home.

From 9:00 PM, at the Trade Unions Culture House, The National Theatre Bucharest proposes „"A Strange Incident with a Dog in the Midnight Hour"”", based on a novel by Mark Haddon, directed by Bobi Pricop. The show tells the story of Christopher, a teenager with Asperger's syndrome. The boy who cannot lie decides to investigate the death of a dog and finds out what strange events his parents, or neighbors, went through at midnight.

All Tuesday, September 27, in the OFF section of the festival will be played „"Reasons to be pretty", by Neil LaBute, directed by Radu Horghidan. Proposed by Studio Act Oradea, the show tells us a story about normal people with absolutely normal dramas, who are condemned to live in a culture of the extraordinary, a culture in which beauty standards refer only to physical appearance. The show is played from hour 7:00 PM, in the Studio Act Room.

Tickets are on sale at the theater's Ticket Agency from Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 19:00, and on weekends between 10:00 and 13:00 or one hour before each performance. You can also purchase tickets online at www.biletmaster.ro.
