ITINERANCE PROJECT AT ARCADIA BAND

The «Itinerances» project will run between July 2013 – June 2015 within the framework of the European cultural project “Culture 2007 – 2013” in the international cooperation component. The project has a total budget of 405,000 EUR, of which 200,000 EUR is European funding and the rest represents the personal participation of the 4 organizers:

1. Regina Maria Theater – main organizer

2. Belfort Puppet Theatre, France – co-organizer 1

3. Karromato Sobeslav Company, Czech Republic – co-organizer 2

4. Charles Kleinberg Production – Brussels, Belgium – co-organizer 3

Within the project, workshops will be held around the construction and handling of dolls and marionettes, a show will be produced that combines the ancient technique of puppetry with the synthetic image and film projection, a show that will remain in the repertoire of the Regina Maria Theater and which will be played in the 4 participating countries and Hungary, a traveling exhibition will be built around the puppet and handling techniques, an exhibition that will accompany the show on its tour and which will be accompanied by a series of conferences related to the subject.

The project leader is Radu Dinulescu, a theatre director, already on his second European project, currently employed by the Regina Maria Theatre. Numerous theatre employees will be involved in the project and will be remunerated from the project funds.

The project was part of manager Daniel Vulcu's strategy of opening the Regina Maria Theater to international experiences, cooperations and international co-productions.

The theater is also preparing to submit a project in October, a project that will have partners from Italy, England and Spain and that will have as its theme immigration, a complex European phenomenon. The leader of this project is the Teatro de'll Argine in Bologna.
