The Iosif Vulcan troupe of the Regina Maria Theatre kicks off the autumn theatre season in the Oradea Citadel and in the virtual environment with seven performances that will make us forget the daily monotony and routine. Get ready to welcome the first coppery and still gentle days of the autumn season in love, cheerful, conspiratorial, altruistic, receptive, decadent, intrigued, adolescent, a diversity of states and situations, which open up boundless imaginary horizons and create the freedom to dream.
Tuesday, September 8, from 8:00 PM, on the mobile stage located in the Oradea Citadel, we fall in love, sing and laugh our hearts out with "The Lovers from Ancona", a musical show by Vajda Katalin, directed by Andrei Mihalache.
Tuesday, September 15, 8:00 PM, also on the mobile stage located in the Oradea Citadel, we discover the fate of the actors called to Elsinore by Prince Hamlet to reveal the deed that led to his father's death, in "Hamlet's Trap", an adaptation of Nedialko Yordanov, directed by Petru Vutcărău.
Thursday, September 17, 8:30 PM, in the Amphitheater of the Oradea Citadel, the altruism of some cute little animals will surprise you, especially when it is alternated with human selfishness and opacity, in the show "A Very Simple Story", by Maria Lado, directed by Elvira Rîmbu.
On Saturday, September 19, at 8:00 PM, we return to the mobile stage in the Oradea Citadel with the show "Christians", by Lucas Hnath, directed by Radu Iacoban, for which actor Răzvan Vicoveanu, who plays the role of Joshua, received a nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category at the XXVIII edition of the UNITER Awards. We wish him much success and hope he wins the award, because he truly deserves it.
Sunday, September 20, 7:00 PM, we invite you to sit comfortably in your armchair at home and watch the show "The Snake in the Grass" online, a story full of intrigue and suspense, written by Alan Ayckbourn and directed by Sebastian Lupu.
On Thursday, September 24, from 8:00 PM, we dress nicely and arrive on time at the Amphitheater in the Oradea Citadel, where we will meet with "Miss Iulia", a text considered a masterpiece by the writer August Strindberg, directed by Alexandru Weinberger-Bara, who speaks about the (almost) impossible escape from oneself…

On the 50th anniversary of the first theater festival in Oradea – Short Theatre Week, the Regina Maria Theatre announces the selection of the 10th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO), financed by the Bihor County Council, which will take place between 11–20 September 2026. This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break. The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
