The 2018-2019 season at the Regina Maria Theater
The 2018-2019 season begins at the Regina Maria Theater in September with a series of shows that managed to bring the audience to their feet at each performance. However, the new theatrical year promises to be extraordinary from all points of view: in addition to the fact that the most beloved shows from past seasons are being reprised, new projects are being prepared, which will include works from both classical and contemporary dramaturgy, directors who have made history on the Oradea theater stage will return, and we will also meet some new ones, who will certainly surprise us with their special creative methods.
The season opens with a novelty! Spectators can consult the program of the Iosif Vulcan Troupe of the Regina Maria Theatre, which is set until December, and can already purchase tickets for the performances they wish to see from the Theatre Agency and on the biletmaster.ro website.
In the new theatrical year, each of the three troupes that make up the Regina Maria Theater has prepared beautiful surprises for the Oradea audience.
The first premiere of the season will take place on Sunday, October 14, at 7:00 PM, at the Arcadia Hall and will feature a young director from Oradea, Alexandru Weinberger-Bara, who completed his studies in Vienna. He will stage a text written by one of the most controversial Swedish writers of his time: "Miss Julia", by August Strindberg.
The Iosif Vulcan troupe is also preparing a premiere at the Great Hall for November, a contemporary text from Turkish drama: "Avalanşa", by Tuncer Cücenoglu. The show will be directed by Petru Vutcărău, a director and actor originally from the Republic of Moldova, known and appreciated by the Oradea audience, who will be at his seventh collaboration with the Regina Maria Theater.
In the second part of the season, we will be able to enjoy three more premieres: a show from classical dramaturgy, directed by Claudiu Goga, a multi-award-winning artist, holder of a UNITER award since his debut, a show from contemporary American dramaturgy, directed by Erwin Șimșensohn, a young stage director, whose artistic activity has already been rewarded with important nominations and awards, even enjoying a nomination for best direction at the Oradea Short Theatre Festival, 2016 edition, and a show from contemporary Romanian dramaturgy, directed by Radu Iacoban, whose name has become increasingly well-known in Romanian theater, emerging under a triple label: actor, director and playwright.
Also, a project appreciated by the Oradea audience will be resumed: "The Murder of Gonzago", by Nedialko Yordanov, directed by Petru Vutcărău at the Oradea theater in 2010.
Spectators will have four types of subscriptions available in the 2018-2019 season: premiere, standard (adults), for retirees and for students, and they can be purchased between September 1 and November 1, 2018 from the Theater Agency.
The Arcadia troupe will delight us again this year with projects that will address young viewers, such as "King Smoc de Barbă" and "Apolodor, the Traveling Penguin", but it is also preparing other surprises, which will certainly arouse a wave of enthusiasm among the audience of all ages. The novelties of the season will be two great shows, which will primarily address young people aged 12-13: "The Exploits of Păcală", directed by Petre Ghimbășan and "The Three Musketeers", an adaptation of the famous novel by Alexandre Dumas.
The Crișana Professional Artistic Ensemble is preparing for the celebration, how else but through a show: an extraordinary concert dedicated to the Centennial of the Great Union, through which it will manage to reproduce, through traditional music, dance and song, a little of what Romania means.
We hope that this season we will enjoy your love, honor our actors with full halls at performances and endless applause, thus enriching Oradea's cultural life together. We look forward to seeing you at the theater!
