ANDRAS FORGACH, AUTHOR OF THE PLAY CHEIA, IN ORADEA!
The show CHEIA (stage direction Victor Ioan Frunză) was performed yesterday in the presence of the author, Mr. András Forgách.
Here are some of the author's thoughts about this play: "Two brothers, who are very different, despite the fact that they look alike, are waiting for something, but no one knows what that is something. They have each other, and that's it.
The little one believes he is safe, that his privacy is intact and that, being an artist, he is free from the pressure of the world – but strangely, everyone seems to have the key to his apartment, his inner world being like an open book, and his personal ambitions thus becoming as vulnerable and unjustified as his feelings.
The big guy believes he is in control of the situation, that he can manipulate and control everything – although in reality he is just as vulnerable, and his quick and humorous attitude actually masks a lack of love; his strength is born from his weaknesses.
Through the two's almost accidental – and predestined – meeting in a café and in the younger brother's apartment, the world, like an overripe fruit, opens up, chaos takes over the situation and everything collapses on the participants; strange things are said and ghosts of the past come to the surface.
Chaos is always conducive to revealing an individual's true personality. Conflict arises between actors who think they are doing great as adults, when in fact they are just children just learning to walk."
The next performance of the KEY show is Friday, May 29th.
