DIRECTOR SERGIU SAVIN HAS PASSED AWAY!
Another servant of the stage has left: the director Sergiu Savin (born November 6, 1941 in Suceava). He went where, one day, each of us will go, hopefully sooner rather than later!
He was invited to our theater in 1974 to stage "The Loneliness of the Target Shooter", by Vasile Rebreanu and Mircea Zaciu. He then remained in Oradea for many years, staging landmark performances for the Oradea stage and for Romanian theater.
„"The Trevi Fountain" (by Gian Lorenzo Bernini Dramaturgical restoration: Cesare D'Onofrio, Franca Caprino, Alberto Perrini, staged in world premiere in Oradea), "The Anniversary" (by Harold Pinter), "The Fan House" (by Marin Sorescu), "Sleeping on a Snake" (by DR Popescu), "Outside the Door" (by Wolfgang Borchert) are some of the titles that made him appreciated and respected.
Taking over the management of the Oradea theater during the turbulent period after the Revolution, he resigned after only three months and retired to the world of icon painters, holding several exhibitions in the country and abroad!
He passed away in retirement and discretion, just as he had lived his entire life. But he will remain alive for all those who played under his baton or watched the results of his hard work, which is the basis of all successes, not only in the theater.
May God rest him!
