WORLD PUPPET THEATRE DAY CELEBRATED IN ARCADIA
On March 21st it was celebrated World Puppet Theatre Day.
On the occasion of this anniversary event, the Arcadia Troupe of the Regina Maria Theatre organized the "MY PUPPLIES THEATRE" contest, through which it challenged the little spectators to become creators and actors themselves. Over 90 children aged between 6 and 12 took to the stage of the Arcadia Theatre and carried our imagination through wonderful stories from literature or their own creations, helped by the puppets they made themselves (with a little help from adults). The jury, consisting of actor Florian Silaghi, president of the jury and artistic director of the Arcadia Troupe, actor Florin Stan, set designer Emese Csüri and actor Andrei Fazecaş, rewarded each participant with small prizes, depending on the category in which they excelled. Thus, the 16 moments supported by the children were distinguished with the following prizes: the GEPETTO prize for the most skillful puppet (construction), ILEANA COSÂNZEANA for the most aesthetic puppet (beauty), THE MECHANICAL PUPPET for the most robotic puppet, HARLECHINO for the most maneuverable puppet (maneuverability), PĂCALĂ the most cunning puppet (sympathetic), ELMO for the most cheerful interpretation (comic), SNOW WHITE for the most convincing interpretation (acting), THE LITTLE MERMAID for the most sensitive interpretation (lyrical), THE WING for the most convincing positive character, THE BRAVE TAILOR for the most courageous interpretation (horizon), LIGHTNING FIGHTERS for the smallest puppets, ŞEHEREZADE for the most authentic creation (own creation), THE FRIENDSHIP AWARD for the most united team, TANDALĂ for the most unusual interpretation and THE WIZARD OF OZ for the most surprising creation. The prizes consisted of diplomas, a free ticket to the theater, sweets, books and pizza. The breaks were sweetened with delicious cakes and lots of joy. Everyone who was present at this event had a wonderful day. The children showed us once again that imagination has no limits and that stories can always awaken the playful spirit in the souls of adults. It was the most beautiful anniversary dedicated to puppet theater and the puppeteers who bring the charming stories to life. Thanks also to those who made the beautiful prizes possible, namely Bella Design, Humanitas Bookstore, European Food, Scala Confectionery and Pizzeria Zulu.
