Premiere and workshops for the whole family at Arcadia Hall
The Arcadia troupe of the Regina Maria Theater is preparing to welcome the winter holidays with a new premiere and a series of workshops for the whole family!
The Arcadia troupe announces the second premiere of the 2024/2025 season, "The Selfish Giant" based on the story by Oscar Wilde, directed by Ciprian Huțanu, which will be performed on Saturday, December 14, in two performances, at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
"The Giant's garden is like a magnet for children eager to play. He runs, he jumps, he climbs trees... in short, he's a big mess! But he's always bothered by the presence of others in his garden and wants everyone to stay as far away from him as possible. So he starts chasing them away every day. He becomes so preoccupied with being left alone that even spring leaves him, and the North Wind is the only one who visits him. Only through a lot of humility and perseverance does he manage not only to get rid of the label of selfishness, but also to attract others closer to him again.
The Selfish Giant is a story about the consequences that arise when we try to isolate ourselves from those around us, refusing to understand that only what we share with others remains truly ours.”
The artistic team also includes Costache Gavril Siriteanu, who designed the puppets' scenography; Oana Cernea, who designed the set; Cári Tibor, who composed the music, and Răzvan Chendrean, who handled the props.
The cast of the show consists of Florian Silaghi, Igor Lungu, Alexandru Crefelean, Alexandru Pop, Armanda Serac and Consuela Egyed.
The next performance is scheduled for Saturday, December 21, at 11:00 AM, at the Arcadia Hall.
