PREMIERE STAN BOLOVAN – THE FEAR OF THE KITE
The Arcadia troupe of the Regina Maria Theatre is pleased to announce a new premiere: “STAN BOLOVAN – THE FEAR OF THE KITES”, a dramatization based on the stories of Ioan Slavici, which enjoys the directorial signature of Maria Mierluţ, the directorial assistance of Florian Silaghi and the scenographic assistance of Oana Cernea, which will take place on Saturday, May 7, at 11:00, at the Arcadia Hall.
“STAN BOLOVAN – THE FEAR OF THE KITES” is a show that invites the Oradea audience to enter the universe of Romanian folk tales, which come to life on the stage of the Arcadia Theater through particularly beautiful and even ingenious puppets, so that even brooms or bread baskets unexpectedly become fierce dragons.
Young viewers are expected to accompany the skilled Stan on his journey around the world in an attempt to amass wealth in order to feed the 100 children gifted to him and his wife by God. For those who are curious to see if he will be able to face all the obstacles that will come his way and lead the three kites and their mother by the nose in order to be able to fulfill his mission, we invite you to the premiere.
The cast includes actors Florian Silaghi (Stan Bolovan), Zentania Lupșe (Stanca), Rin Tripa (Dunzezu), Andrei Fazecaș (St. Peter), Andrei Fazecaș (Kite), Florin Stan (Kite), Igor Lungu (Zmăoc), Zentania Lupșe (Mama Kmeilor) and Armanca Serac (children, props).

On the 50th anniversary of the first theater festival in Oradea – Short Theatre Week, the Regina Maria Theatre announces the selection of the 10th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO), financed by the Bihor County Council, which will take place between 11–20 September 2026. This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break. The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
