The Regina Maria Theater presents the show "On a happy man, years in a row...", a selection from Michelangelo Buonarroti's poetry to celebrate the 450th anniversary of his entry into eternity.

Michelangelo Buonarroti was, along with Leonardo da Vinci, the most important artist during the peak of the Italian Renaissance. His universal genius is equally reflected in painting, drawing, sculpture and architecture. He also wrote poetry, especially in the sonnet and madrigal genres. Michelangelo's genius reflected in the visual arts also finds its correspondence in literary creation.

The feelings, deep traits and thoughts of the master Michelangelo found expression, throughout his long life, in a series of lyrical compositions and in many letters addressed to family and friends. Without being a man of letters by definition and without having the intention of publishing his poems, Buonarroti left behind many compositions in verse inspired by Petrarch, as the customs of the time demanded.

The Regina Maria Theater has the honor to invite you to a special show, dedicated to the 164th anniversary of the birth of the poet Mihai Eminescu. The event is conceived as a package of three shows spanning approximately four hours, in which the charm of Eminescu's poems and the music on his lyrics will create an atmosphere of romance that will envelop the audience.

5:00 PM – Laying of flowers at the statue of Mihai Eminescu and FLASHMOB

The event begins at 5:00 PM with the laying of flowers at the statue of Mihai Eminescu. This part of the event will take place as a Flashmob, in which the public can participate by reciting the poem "La steaua" to commemorate the birth of the poet Mihai Eminescu. The flashmob is designed to remind passers-by caught up in the habit of a mechanical life of the complexity of the poet's inner life, and of each of us, to take them out of their daily routine by offering them a piece of romanticism and to draw attention to the importance of Mihai Eminescu's poetry in Romanian culture.

Georg Büchner's text, LEONCE AND LENA, tells the story of two princes, Prince Leonce of the Kingdom of Popo and Princess Lena of the Kingdom of Pipi. The arranged marriage between the two is about to take place and both decide separately to escape this arrangement. However, they fail to escape from each other, meeting by chance without recognizing each other and falling in love. The two decide to play a prank on their parents and return to the Kingdom of Popo to get married. Dressed up as themselves, they realize that, in fact, fate has gotten in their way and that they have fulfilled their parents' wish.

This complex story about power and obedience, love and politics, staged by the Regina Maria Theatre, marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of the author, Georg Büchner. It is a musical show with songs performed live by a mini-orchestra; all the characters from Regatele Popo, namely Pipi, sing and dance to the rhythms of the original music, the fruit of the talented artist Ada Milea; the creative team of the show is exceptional: the direction and script are by Mihai Măniuțiu, the choreography is by Vava Ștefănescu and the sets and costumes were designed by Adrian Damian.

“Internal Dialogues” continues in October with Ana Maria Georgescu as guest. The dialogue aims to be honest and profound, an invitation to see the glass half full and an attempt to present the world we live in not in shades of gray, but in pastel colors. Director Radu Vaida's guest, although apparently fragile, sensitive, childish, is a strong person who has recently stood out as an intellectual in full ascension on the Oradea cultural firmament, beyond her artistic and musical qualities.

The third edition of the show INTERNAL DIALOGUES will feature the theater and film actor, George Mihaiţă, as a guest. We are pleased to invite you to a discussion between him and director Radu Vaida, on Sunday, November 24, at 7:00 PM in the Great Hall of the Regina Maria Theater.

Among the theater performances that made George Mihaiță famous are roles in plays directed by Horațiu Mălăele, such as the one in Inspector by N.V. Gogol (1998), hat by Eugene Labiche (1998), Money from heaven by Ray Cooney (2001), performances directed by Gábor Tompa as Chained Ubu, by Alfred Jarry (2004) and dozens of other pieces.

The way George Mihăiţă juggles between serious and entertaining roles is especially noticeable in his filmography, starring in both art films and Reconstruction by Lucian Pintilie (1968), the recent Somewhere in Palilula directed by Purcărete, in films that fall into the tragicomedy genre Silent wedding directed by Horaţiu Mălăele (2008) but also having roles that were very entertaining like the one in the famous BD takes action (1970).

THE PRODUCERS is a musical that made history on BROADWAY: a success with audiences and critics, a sparkling comedy...

The musical was based on the 1968 film of the same name, to which Mel Brooks also contributed, writing the musical scores for this show. On Broadway, it premiered on April 19, 2001 and had over 2,500 performances and won no less than 12 TONY Awards. The success led to the creation of a new film with the Broadway stars, in 2005, with Nathan Lane (Max Bialystock), Matthew Broderick (Leo Bloom) and Uma Thurman (Ulla) in the main roles.

Max Bialystock (Alexandru Rusu) was one of the best producers on Broadway, but his career has been on a downward spiral lately. We are on Broadway, so, and Bialystock's newest show, a musical (FUNNY BOY) based on Shakespeare's HAMLET, is a huge failure, leaving him bankrupt. The next day, Max is visited by an accountant, Leo Bloom (Pavel Sîrghi), who comes to do the audit. He discovers that if he raised money for a guaranteed failure, he would not have to return the money to investors, and Max convinces him to team up to implement a scheme like no other on Broadway has ever seen.

„"Those Who Don't Forget..." is not a simple theater performance. It is an experience that makes you responsible for the collective past, another dimension of our recent history. It is a performance that forces you to keep your soul and eyes wide open for one of the most impressive theatrical experiences.

„"Those Who Don't Forget..." is not about a simplistic event, but about what we know happened in the communist camps. It is a wake-up call for generations who must not forget the thousands of people who died in prisons.

The show is built from poems written in communist prisons, between 1948 and 1964, and director Gavriil Pinte says that it was no coincidence that he chose a script based on verses from a transitional period in Romanian literature. "Poetry remains the religion of my theater," he declared.

The emotions begin from the first steps you take towards the theater. The long, dark corridor, the security officers with fierce looks, the morbid decor… all form a depressing prologue, which makes you aware that we all bear the responsibility of a cruel reality on our shoulders. It is a physical and spiritual journey at the same time. An itinerary of suffering in which you automatically become a living witness to a history that must not be forgotten.

Cultural-artistic-philosophical-spiritual show

The REGINA MARIA Theater in Oradea invites you to the first meeting with the guests of director Radu Vaida, the host of a unique cultural-artistic-philosophical-spiritual show, which will bring every month, on the stage of the Oradea theater and in dialogue with the audience here, personalities of the cultural life in Romania, in an attempt to restore and celebrate the most important spiritual and moral values, according to which a healthy society should function.

The first guests of the show INTERNAL DIALOGUES will be the famous theater and film actor, Mircea Diaconu, and the well-known actress of the Oradea stage, Ioana Dragoş Gajdo, who will answer the challenges launched by the moderator, but also by the spectators, active participants in this unique show and whose questions will be transmitted to the guests, with charm and grace by Alina Leonte, actress of the REGINA MARIA Theater. "Profound, concrete, unique and positive" themes will be discussed, accompanied by the harmonies of the VARADINUM quartet from Oradea and accompanied by the paintings of the artist Diana Gabriela Gavrilaş, who will also present her exhibition entitled "Italian Gardens" on this occasion.

The show AT "IUNION", BIRJAR!, proposed by Daniel Vulcu, attempts to reconstruct the atmosphere of the 1900s, through the texts of the eternal Caragiale. The atmosphere at the "Iunion" terrace with the music and dances of those times will be found in a cheerful cabaret show, pigmented with live music and magic acts, which can only be to everyone's taste.

With a bittersweet smile, we notice each time, as if in a breach in time or as if in a merciless mirror, the lucidity of the writer through his timelessness. The same world, the same turmoil, manifested only under a different appearance, make Caragiale an immortal writer, and the collage of 12 sketches comes to support this statement.

The show INTERNAL DIALOGUES is in its fifth edition. On this occasion, we suggest you not make any plans for May 8th, and spend a Thursday evening with us in a relaxed atmosphere, discussing with theater and film actor Victor Rebengiuc.

His artistic activity, which has been going on for over 50 years, makes a synthesis of his career in theater, film and radio theater an extremely difficult undertaking. However, we all know him from his roles in films such as The Moromets, The Forest of the Hanged, Why are the bells ringing, Mitică?, Niki Ardelean, retired colonel, Silent wedding, Medal of Honor and the recent Japanese dog. The fact that Victor Rebengiuc is increasingly present in the films of the directors of the Romanian New Cinema Wave demonstrates to the public that the actor still has a lot to offer and that he refuses to freeze in a single role.

We all wait for luck to smile at us once in our lives. Many of us, week after week, believe in lucky numbers and hope that maybe, just maybe, our numbers will be drawn. We plan in advance what to do with the money we win: how we will spend it, who we will give it to and how we will manage. The play PRAH is about a couple who gamble their luck on such a lottery. But it seems that it is easier to dream than to enjoy the big jackpot, at least that is what the two protagonists who are lucky will do. They do not know what to do with the money that has fallen from the sky, because they cannot forget the past and cannot enjoy the present. They do not know what to do, but while they are thinking and planning, the winning ticket is sitting in a safe place, in a box of Cacao Praf (PRAH means PRAF in Croatian), brought from a trip they made a long time ago in Yugoslavia.

Viola and Sebastian, twin brothers, escape from a shipwreck, but neither knows what happened to the other's fate. Viola disguises herself as a boy to get a job as a page at the court of Duke Orsino. From here on, a series of comic situations arise. The characters are amusing. We sense that nothing serious will happen in the end, despite all the unexpected events. All the confusions will be resolved and the play will end in a perfect balance of harmony and love.
