Chekhov, Roxana in "Cyrano de Bergerac" by Edmond Rostand, Valea in "The Tale of Irkutsk" by Alexei Arbuzov and others. She continued her career at the "Toma Caragiu" Theatre in Ploieşti, where she was present on the bill for a long time, in important roles. Actor

Date and place of birth: 11.05.1952, Cluj-Napoca, died in Sweden

Studies: Institute of Theater and Cinematography "ILCaragiale" Bucharest, 1975, class of prof. Sanda Manu and Octavian Cotescu

A group of four actors – two girls and two boys – students of Sanda Manu, who had directed in Oradea, chose the city theater on Crişul Repede, after graduation. As a sign of appreciation for their gesture and talent, the theater management chose the play „The Nameless Star” by Mihail Sebastian in the repertoire for them. Radu Vaida played the main role: Marin Miroiu. It was one of the many main roles that he played with talent and dedication in five years spent in Oradea, for some of them receiving distinctions (collective or individual) for artistic quality. Chroniclers have always recorded his artistic achievements: "a fine draftsman of the chlorotic Cinzio" ("Trevi Fountain" by Gian Lorenzo Bernini), troubled and surprisingly interiorized" ("To the Stars" by Leonid Andreev), "remarkable (in a pair with Mircea Constantinescu in "The Emigrants" by Slawomir Mrožek), expressing in an original, tragic way, the limiting condition of the emigrants", in a "solid and coherent spectacle, of remarkable rigor and tension".

Urlateanu, Dorel

Actor, emeritus artist

Date and place of birth: 23.02.1912, Bucharest

Studies: Bucharest Conservatory of Music and Dramatic Art, 1941

Dorel Urlăţeanu is part of the "chosen" group of actors who began their profession in the 1930s, in a prosperous and somewhat happy Romania, continued it after the war, then crossed, with amazement and, more than once resigned - or, on the contrary, rebellious - the communist period. Some found it impossible to resist, to adapt, others were thrown into prisons, a few, very few, made, not easily, a pact with the devil... Just as some became heroes, fighting, with weapons specific to art, against the communist regime. If we remember what destiny an artist like the immortal Constantin Tănase had, we will better understand how this generation emerged and survived. Dorel Urlăţeanu was a very important actor, the only emeritus artist in the Oradea theater. He trained alongside great theater people, notable personalities: VIPopa, playwright and director, I.Maximilian, Ion Livescu, George Vraca, Ion Sava, Maria Filotti, Sonia Cluceru, Aura Buzescu, etc.

Urlateanu, Doina

Actress

Date and place of birth: 01.06.1919, Ohaba-Bistra

Studies: Theater Institute

Doina Urlăţeanu was, in her youth, a very beautiful woman, her queenly attire recommended her for duenna roles. However, she did not play only leading roles, perhaps because she was not ambitious enough, consistent enough, contenting herself with the role of the protective wife of a great artist. Serious, even sober, she played, on the other hand, at a level always above average, bigger or smaller roles, happy to be on stage with her partner… in life. They played a lot together, sometimes being on stage… husband and wife. He played, with exemplary dedication, in numerous children's shows ("Sânziana and Pepelea" by Vasile Alecsandri, "Floricica purpurie" by I.Brausevici - I.Karnauhova, "The Match Girl" by Angel Cârstea after H.C.Andersen), numerous small, episodic roles in landmark shows such as "The Dictator" and "The Gaiţele" by Al.Kiriţescu, "The Naked King" by Evgheni Şvarţ, "Cyrano de Bergerac" by Edmond Rostand, "The Bedbug" by Vladimir Mayakovsky, "Tonight they improvise" by Luigi Pirandello, "The Visit of the Old Lady" by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, etc., but also larger roles in shows such as "The Aristocrats" by Nikolai Pogodin, "Spring: Forbidden Suicide" by Alejandro Cassona, "The Servant of Two Masters" by Carlo Goldoni.

Actor

Date and place of birth: 16.09.1928, Stânceni, died at 74 Studies: "Szentgyörgyi István" Theatre Institute, Cluj, 1953

After several seasons spent at the National Theatre of Cluj-Napoca, Bacău and Constanța, he joined the Oradea State Theatre. A jovial and overweight actor, he brought to the stage a zest for life and relaxation. He had the knowledge and ease of appearing on stage – the lack of complexes. He also played many important roles in Oradea. He liked to recite Eminescu, Blaga, Bacovia – the latter even performing a personal recital in 1973, entitled "I Hear the Matter Crying". A year and a month later, while rehearsing the show "Is Life a Wagon?" by Paul Everac, on the last day of the year, flying to Bucharest for the funeral of his father-in-law, he crashed in a plane, not far from his native village, near Sibiu. Life was no longer like a wagon… and he sleeps eternally in his native land.

She grew up in a wealthy intellectual family, having a happy childhood on the estate that seemed to be straight out of Turgenev's writings, in Orhei. As a child, she had the opportunity to see films with Shirley Temple and act in small skits "staged" by her grandmother, on the small improvised stage in the garden of the house.

She graduated from the Theoretical High School in Dej, then attended the Theater Institute, Nicolae Bălţăţeanu's class. In her third year of college, she married her classmate, Corneliu Zdrehuş, a future director.
