Children and parents are invited on Saturday, January 12, from 11:00 a.m., to the Great Hall, to the first performance of this year of the beloved children's show "The Wizard of Oz".
Written at the beginning of the 20th century, more precisely in 1900, by Frank Baum, "The Wizard of Oz" has become an immortal story over time that presents the adventures of Dorothy, a little girl from Kansas, thrown by a tornado into unknown lands, along with a whole host of characters - the Straw Man, the Tin Man, the Lion and Toto, the dog. The characters' journey to the Emerald City has fascinated many generations of children and continues to delight today, ultimately inviting us to know ourselves, to know the treasures we carry within us.
We are pleased to invite you to a new premiere of the Regina Maria Theater: the musical show ŢIGANIADA, which will take place on Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2, starting at 7 p.m., at the Theater's Great Hall.
Dedicated to the two hundredth anniversary of the writing of ŢIGANIADA, the show based on Ion Budai-Deleanu's famous epic is part of the series of great shows based on classical texts. Benefiting from a dramatization by Radu Macrinici, winner of two UNITER awards for dramaturgy, the Oradea theater's show is not only a restitution of a legendary text but also a transposition to the present time of the delicious adventures that Ion Budai-Deleanu's gypsies experience on their way to search for an illusory country. Music, dance and especially acting performances complete this picturesque picture and make ŢIGANIADA one of the most important events of this season.

We are pleased to announce a play with a provocative title BORDEL, by Gabriel Barylli. The 5th Premiere of the 2012/2013 Season also represents a first co-production of the Regina Maria Theatre in Oradea with a theatre from abroad: Friday, November 2, at 7 pm, in the Great Hall of the Theatre (show with the audience on stage).
The show, produced in collaboration with the Pygmalion Theater in Vienna, directed by Ţino Geirun, had its official premiere on July 12, 2012 in Vienna and was presented on September 29, 2012 at the International Short Theater Festival. For Georgia Căprărin it is the first role in the Iosif Vulcan troupe. Both the artistic direction, the set design and the musical illustration bear the signature of Ţino Geirun. The director of Romanian origin settled in Vienna in 1985 where in 1989 he founded the "Pygmalion" Theater Complex, consisting of the Theater Academy and the Theater of the same name.

The 2012-2013 season opened with the premiere of the 18th Edition of the Short Theatre Festival, the play EQUUS (by Peter Shaffer, directed by Szabo K. Istvan) – the story of a psychiatrist who tries to treat a young man who has a pathological religious fascination with horses. Shaffer was inspired to write EQUUS after hearing about a shocking incident: a 17-year-old blinded six horses in a small town near Suffolk. The playwright built a fictional history of the causes that could have caused the incident, without knowing any other details about it. The action of the play is similar to a detective story, in which psychiatrist Martin Dysart tries to understand the causes of the boy's actions, while struggling with conflicting feelings about his personal life.
The Regina Maria Theater was invited to participate in the 7th edition of International Children's Theater Festival, "100, 1,000, 1,000,000 Stories", organized between September 29 and October 6 in Bucharest, by the Ion Creangă Theater, with the show THE WIZARD OF OZ (by L. Frank Baum, under the artistic direction of Dan Mirea).
