Actor

Studies: Institute of Theatre and Cinematography "ILCaragiale" Bucharest, 1966

His appearance in the play "The High School Students" by K. Treniov in the first season of the Oradea Theatre, in a role of a student, for a few lines, opened his way to the Theatre Institute. Initially assigned to Bacău, he soon returned to the city of his childhood and adolescence - Oradea, where he played many leading roles as a junior and interesting compositions until his unexpected death. Strangely (and not really), the compositions in the difficult roles showed us Nicolae Barosan's true side as an actor more than those in which he played himself: that is, "beautiful"! The fate of many actors that some directors use only where the role "fits them". But... the glove wears out!

Actor

Date and place of birth: 19.12.1960, Turnu Severin

Studies: Institute of Theater and Cinematography "ILCaragiale" Bucharest, 1984, class of prof. Olga Tudorache

While still a student, he played several important roles: Matei Boiu ("Strong Souls" by Camil Petrescu), Henry V and Richard III by Shakespeare, Tuzenbach ("Platonov" by A.P. Chekhov). He collaborated with Dragoş Galgoţiu, with whom, years later, he would collaborate admirably at the Odeon Theater, where he has been employed since leaving Oradea.

Physically pleasing, tall, athletic, blue eyes, blond, he is what is called a "successful specimen". But, much more importantly, he is intelligent, devotes a lot of time to reading and physical and mental training, he is very serious and hardworking. His debut in Oradea took place in the show "The Cursed Village" by Mircea Bradu, with a difficult role (Sculă-rea), an impeccably crafted composition: an authentic peasant, both stupid and cunning and evil, but also good, when necessary.

Artistic director

Date and place of birth: 27.05.1965, Bucharest

Studies: "ILCaragiale" University of Theatre Arts, Bucharest, 1998, class of Cătălina Buzoianu

The young Florin Antoniu came to the State Theatre of Oradea in 1998 – with the idea of putting into practice both his knowledge acquired in school and the talent of the Oradea troupe. However, something did not „work out”: perhaps a mismatch between his projects and the troupe’s expectations. The option for the text „Exerciții de dicție pentru câinii fără stămăt” (diction exercises for stray dogs) by the young Dan Mihu (awarded the 2nd Prize of the Dramaturgy Competition organized by the Short Theatre Week festival, Oradea, 9th edition, 1993 – for the short play „Infernul actelor formale”) was, in principle, respectable. The show – also signed as a set designer, staged in the Studio hall, did not enjoy much success, proof of which is that it only had three performances. It was not seen by critics, so it did not benefit from any analysis, and was quickly forgotten.

Artistic director

Date and place of birth: 24.01.1935, Iași

Studies: Institute of Theater and Cinematography "ILCaragiale" Bucharest, theater directing department, 1957

Born in other lands, after graduation he returned to the city where he had studied at the "Em. Gojdu" High School, in Oradea, with an immense appetite for work, which did not leave him until the unfortunate stroke that put him on the verge of death. As if by premonition, he gathered in his creative file the direction of numerous shows (even five in one season), not only in Oradea, where he debuted, but also in Arad or the National Theater in Târgu-Mureş, where he was also a director (at both theaters), but in almost all the theaters in the country that requested him, especially to stage plays from the national dramaturgy, which some directors refused. For some – "The Book of Ioviţă" by Paul Everac from Oradea or "Horia" by Mihail Davidoglu from Arad – he received distinctions at national festivals and for most of them, the appreciation of specialized critics. Loving and appreciating actors, he always put them at the center of his directorial concerns, through them materializing his ideas about theater and life. (Presentation by Eugen Ţugulea)

After a five-year hiatus at the Sibiu Theatre, she came to Oradea, requested by director Valeriu Moisescu. An actress full of strength and dynamism, likeable and communicative, she played many important roles in the three seasons spent in Oradea (Ada – "Passacaglia" by Titus Popovici, Puck – "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare, Liubov Iarovaia from the play of the same name by K. Treniov or Lizzy Curry from "The Man Who Brings Rain" by N. Richard Nash, marrying the painter Victor Cupşa, she left the country, and her career ended (at least in the country!).

Actress

Date and place of birth: 05.04.1927, Poptelec, Cluj County

Studies: "Szentgyörgyi István" Theater Institute in Cluj, 1950

She began her career on the stage of the National Theatre in Cluj-Napoca, where she achieved her first successes with roles in "The Glass of Water" by Eugèn Scribe or "The Gaiţele" by Al. Kiriţescu, and others. She soon became the star of the Cluj troupe. After marrying Vladimir Jurăscu, she moved to Oradea. Here she played many important roles (Alta in "Act veneţian" by Camil Petrescu, Dorine in "Tartuffe" by Molière, Maria Panait in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by Tudor Muşatescu, etc.). Endowed with a pleasant physique and a slight "s" that gave her a certain personal charm, she became a basic actress in the collective. After the 1967/1968 season, she moved, together with her husband, to the National Theatre in Timişoara, where she played until her retirement.

Actor

Studies: Institute of Theatrical and Cinematographic Art "ILCaragiale" Bucharest, 1961

A student of the great actress Dina Cocea, a colleague, among others, of Gheorghe Dinică, Marin Moraru and Bihorian Ion Martin (from Sântandrei), he came, after his assignment, to the theater in his hometown, which he only left for three months until his retirement, in an attempt to escape to Braşov.

Living under the sign "this can only happen to him", he always overcame adversities, slowly and surely becoming one of the basic people of the collective. The over two hundred roles, most of them main ones, diverse in genre and scope, formed a mature, serious, profound actor. A good reciter, he passed, as a passenger, like most "from the province", also by Buftea, and he proved to be a good leader of the "Iosif Vulcan" troupe, when, for three years, he was its director.
