"IN THE HEART OF THE NIGHT – THE LEAR EPISODE" AT THE INTERNATIONAL NEW THEATRE FESTIVAL – ARAD

The Regina Maria Theatre had the honor of participating on Friday, May 13, at the International New Theatre Festival in Arad with the show "In the Heart of the Night - Episode Lear". For 90 minutes, Avram Iancu Square was enlivened by the Oradea show, which once again enjoyed the presence of expert critics in the audience, among whom we recall Claudiu Groza, the festival selector, Raluca Rădulescu and Miruna Runcan.

The Regina Maria Theatre is one of the four Romanian theatres that was invited to participate, between April 21-23, 2016, in the 10th anniversary edition of the Craiova Shakespeare Festival, with the show "In the Heart of the Night - Episode Lear", a script by Gavriil Pinte, with inserts by George Banu and Monique Borie, which enjoys the directorial signature of Gavriil Pinte and the scenographic signature of Roxana Ionescu.

ARTISTS SUPPORT THEIR FAVORITES AT THE UNITER AWARDS GALA!

The interactive campaign to promote the artists competing for the UNITER trophy continues. Entitled "Who is the winner for you?", the campaign offers the general public the opportunity to support their favorites on the website www.uniter.ro. The final jury consisting of Alice Georgescu, Mircea Morariu, Ozana Oancea, Viorica Petrovici, Alexa Visarion will decide the winners on the evening of May 9. Until then, we invite you to vote and be with those you want to be the winners of this edition of the UNITER Awards Gala. Starting today, April 15, the website www.uniter.ro, the Facebook page and the YouTube page host video clips made by actors, theater and film directors, professionals from the theater world, and interventions by the guild that give the competition an added appeal.

MESSAGE FOR WORLD THEATRE DAY – MARCH 27, 2016

Do we need theater? This question is asked by thousands of professionals in the field, disappointed in their hopes, but also by millions of people, tired of theater. Why do we need theater? Because in the years when the stage is insignificant compared to the squares of cities and the territories of states, authentic tragedies from real life are played out. What is theater for us? Gilded boxes and balconies, velvet armchairs, dirty backstage, forced voices or vice versa – black boxes, splashed with mud and blood, in which there are a lot of naked, angry bodies. What can theater tell us? Everything! Theater can tell us everything! And how the gods live in heaven, and how prisoners suffer in caves, and how passion elevates you, and how love kills you, and how there is no need for a good man, and how lies dominate, and how people live in apartments, and children in refugee camps, and how they return to the desert, and how separations from loved ones occur.
