The film won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay and the Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, out of a total of six nominations.

The show "Vinegar Tom", by Caryl Churchill, directed by Dragoș Alexandru Mușoiu, is part of the selection of the 32nd edition of the Bucharest National Theater Festival, which will take place between November 5-13, 2022. The joy is even greater, as it is the second consecutive year in which shows from the repertoire of the Iosif Vulcan Troupe of the Regina Maria Theater are found in the festival selection, this year being "Three Tall Women" and "Legacy of Luck".
The curatorial team of FNT 2022, consisting of Mihaela Michailov, Oana Cristea Grigorescu and Călin Ciobotari, selected for this edition performances from across the country, proposed by state and independent theaters, to which international performances were added, guided by the festival concept, namely: Fragile Borders. Fluid Histories.

RMN, the newest film by director Cristian Mungiu, for the first time, in the presence of the team in Oradea
MRI, The newest film by director Cristian Mungiu will be seen in a special screening at Regina Maria Theater in Oradea, Friday, June 10, starting at 19.00. Director Cristian Mungiu and actor Kovács Levente Jr. will be present at the event, and at the end of the screening they will answer questions from the audience.
MRI tells a story about the profound springs of human behavior in the face of realities that surprise us, about the relationship with others and about the way we all relate today to an unsettling future. Director Cristian Mungiu describes the film as "a story about the relationship between the old times – perceived as more trustworthy because they had become familiar to us – and the current times, felt as chaotic. It is also a story about the self-deception generated by a set of European values that remain more of a desideratum than an accomplishment. It is a story about intolerance and discrimination, about prejudice, stereotypes, authority and freedom, a story about cowardice and courage, about the individual and the masses, about personal destiny versus the collective. It is also a story about survival, about poverty, about fear and an unsettling future."
After the world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, the first laudatory reviews appeared in international publications: "Discrete sequences, of astonishing clarity and density, with a rigor of construction camouflaged by the spontaneity of presentation", "A complex film, so full of ideas that you would expect that concern for aesthetics would not be a priority, but MRI is of an almost unbelievable beauty" notes Jessica Kiang in Variety. "RMN is a fascinating, very human exploration of the multiple problems facing Romania" appreciates Jordan Mintzer in The Hollywood Reporter.

We could say that everything that is about to happen is because of a piece of roasted pumpkin!
A piece of pumpkin that Toffolo, a boatman eager to get married, gives to Lucietta, who, although engaged to Titta Nane, flirts with him only out of boredom and to tease her younger friend Checca. The other girls in the group join in and a whole mess breaks out, in which the men are then involved as soon as they return from fishing.
Each of the girls has their own perspective on the episode, and this only deepens the misunderstandings. The Italian village of Chioggia is thus divided into two rival groups and quarrels fueled by jealousy and frustration begin. The comedy is intensified by the deputy Isidoro, the Venetian official who tries to restore order among the inhabitants of Chioggia.
The Regina Maria Theater in Oradea invites you to the premiere of the Iosif Vulcan Troupe's "The Quarrels of Chioggia", by Carlo Goldoni, artistic direction by Șerban Borda, which will take place on Sunday, May 8, at 7:00 PM, at the Arcadia Hall.
Carlo Goldoni (February 25, 1707, Venice – February 6, 1793, Paris) is considered the founder of Italian realistic comedy, being the playwright who revitalized the established dramatic form of commedia dell'arte Italian, by replacing masked figures with more realistic characters, the evasively structured and often repetitive action, with well-constructed plots and its predictable farce with a new spirit full of humor and spontaneity.
"The Quarrels of Chioggia" is a comedy in three acts, which brings to the fore the lives of two families of fishermen from a Venetian village, between whom a conflict arises that starts from a series of entanglements and love misunderstandings. The way in which the plot evolves, the attempts at reconciliation, the tricks, the language, the relationships between the characters create situations of a delicious comic, but manage to capture a picture of profound realism.
The Regina Maria Theater has designated the winner of the "Start-Up Theatre Director" program, intended for young directors in Romania, launched in January 2022.

The participation criteria were: graduation from a specialized school, participants not to exceed the age of 30, to propose contemporary texts, and the concept of the show to comply with the requirements of the Short Theatre Festival (show with a maximum duration of 90 minutes, without intermission).
18 young directors entered the competition, who fully respected the participation criteria. The winner designated by the Management of the Regina Maria Theatre is Cătălin Mardale, who proposed the text "98% (the right decision)", written by Andreea Tănase. The next stage of the program consists of the actual realization of the winning project at the Iosif Vulcan Troupe of the Regina Maria Theatre.
We thank everyone who responded to our open call and congratulate the winner!
Now, as the world is caught up, hour by hour and minute by minute, in a continuous stream of news, may I invite all of us – the creators – to step into our own eyes, our own reality, and our own perspective on an epic time, an epic change, an epic consciousness, an epic vision? We are living in an epic period in human history, and the profound and massive changes we are experiencing in the relationships of human beings with themselves, with each other, and with non-human worlds tend to exceed our power to feel, articulate, and express.
